Post Office 2 – Comming Soon…

Work is underway to release the next version of Post Office, our popular plugin.

Please submit Feature Requests for features you would love to see in the next Post Office.

Here are a list of features that we are working for the next version:

  1. New Fully Customizable TabBar:
    1. Previously dHTMLx’ Tabbar was used to control the tabs created by the plugin. If you have customized the tabbar’s look, it gets reset at each update of the plugin.
    2. New tabbar will store your customization in the database, safe from plugin upgrades.
    3. You will be able to tweak the tabbar to fit your needs, and look like it belongs to your site.
    4. Styling is applied when Javascript is detected so that users without Javascript can still access all the information.
  2. Improved Table Generating
    1. Previously the plugin did not know how many rows and columns the spreadsheet contains.
    2. New version will detect those values, support spanning of multiple columns/rows.
    3. Styling of the table, now from the Administration, gives you the flexibility you need (optional scrollbars for very wide tables).
  3. Styling Extraction form Excel Spreadsheet (under construction)
    1. Previously no styling could be extracted by the plugin.
    2. New version might just be able to do it (if we can find the connection between the sheet and the styles in time).
  4. Javascript to add Stylesheets to the correct place, so that it is only there when it is needed, but results in perfectly valid code.
  5. Images extraction from Spreadsheets
  6. (Your feature request here)

Unfortunately PowerPoint is not going to make it for this version of Post Office, but we are working on bringing it as soon as possible.

Thank you all for using Post Office and making it a great plugin.

Hi there. This sounds like a great plugin. Does the plugin support, or will the next version support, complex formatting such as nested ordered lists, including where the CSS counter reset method is used?

The new version is very focused on Excel, but I can give it another try to support nested lists. At this point in time I however can not guarantee if it will be ready for the next version. When I try to implement it, I will also attempt to use the CSS reset for the numbers/bullets.

    Hi
This looks like an excellent idea. Will the next version support forms created in word to work as forms within WordPress? I can import Word docs but need to enter the admin to edit: being able to edit within the page without going into admin would be a boon.

@b778c29c2cf15ed5a8aac2462b32fb4b:disqus What forms are you talking about, it just might make it into the next version.
Unfortunately it will not be possible to edit the page without going to edit the page (I could make a link to the newly created page’s edit).
